Staging Placer Valley's October Wine & Art Party at Fountains at Roseville Will Lead to Big Attendance

Rocklin, CA. - 8/19/2009: Gloria Wright, property manager for the Fountains at Roseville, believes the staging of the Second Annual Placer Valley Wine & Art Party at the Fountains will be the biggest event to be held there since its opening in June 2008. Scheduled for Saturday evening, Oct. 17, the event should draw more than 2,500 people, says Wright.

The fall festival will be staged on Main Street at Fountains with the entertainment stage placed near the south end of the street. Wineries and artists will be interspersed along the north end. Displays will be located curb to curb, and auto traffic will be banned during the event.

Choosing Fountains at Roseville as the new site was the idea of Patricia White, a board member of Placer Valley Tourism. "I just thought what a beautiful back drop the Fountains would provide to showcase everything we are trying to achieve," said White. General manager of Roseville's Larkspur Landing, White said, "This event will allow the guests of our hotels to enjoy the best of Placer Valley including wonderful food, the region's wineries, entertainment and, of course, shopping."

The three purposes of this event are to generate hotel room nights in the three cities covered by PVT: Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville, to enhance awareness of the quality of Placer wines and art, and to host Placer County's biggest annual party.

Other events have been held at the Fountains, and the best turnout to date was about 1,500, according to Wright. "We can handle up to 3,000 in the area," she said. She points out that this will be the first wine-tasting event at the Fountains. "We're very excited about hosting this major social gathering," she said. "Teaming with Placer Valley Tourism, we know this will be a sensational event. We believe Fountains at Roseville is the ideal place for such a fun celebration of Placer County's achievements."

The upscale shopping center's namesake fountain will be right in the middle of the wine and art party, giving a refreshing feel to the total atmosphere. The centerpiece fountain performs with illuminated jets of water choreographed to music every half hour.

The event will feature entertainment by three major bands. There will be displays by more than 50 outstanding artists from Placer Arts, and premium passport wine-tasting provided by Placer County wineries.

Advance tickets priced at only $15 are recommended. They are available around the clock online at www.placertourism.com, or by calling 800-773 0522 during regular business hours. Wine-tasting is covered by the ticket price.

Gathering to promote the Oct. 17 Placer Valley Wine & Art Party are organizers, left to right, seated, Leslie Tepora, sales manager for Courtyard by Marriott, Celeste Villarreal, director of sales, Larkspur Landing; standing, Kim Summers of Placer Valley Tourism and Gloria Wright, property manager of Fountains at Roseville.
