PLACER COUNTY WINE TRAIL RINGS IN THE HOLIDAYS WITH ANNUAL WINE TASTING EVENT

This weekend many of the wineries on the Placer County Wine Trail will ring in the season in style at the Holiday in the Hills two-day celebration! On Dec. 7 and 8 there will be 16 participating wineries decked out in holiday festivities galore and ready to pour samples of delicious Placer Wine! This annual event is a self-guided wine trail tour and toy drive that benefits Toys for Tots.

“Holidays in the Hills is a fun and easy way to kick off your Holiday Season,” stated Jocelyn Maddux of the Placer Wine Vintners Association. “Taste local wines, shop from local vendors and bring a new, unwrapped toy for discounts at participating wineries.”

The fun starts at noon on both days and continues until 5 p.m. each day. You can purchase a weekend pass for $35 or pick one day for $30 per person. Your ticket will include wine tastings at all 16 participating wineries plus a souvenir wine glass. If you bring a new, unwrapped toy you will receive 10% off your first bottle of at each winery.

Dora Dain Wines, the newest winery on the Placer Wine Trail, will be open for the first time to the general public and this will be one of only a few opportunities to taste without an appointment. Food trucks will be on-site at many of the wineries as well and there will be delectable treats to indulge your sweet tooth. Several wineries will be having close out specials, new releases and more!

This event is rain or shine so get your rain boots and slickers ready because wine tasting doesn’t require sunny weather! You can still purchase your tickets and kick-off your holiday celebration enjoying great wine, delicious treats and get some Christmas shopping done for the wine-lovers on your list. What better way to celebrate than with live music, good friend, great wine and all-around holiday cheer filling the air!
