2020 PDGA United States Women's Disc Golf Championship Awarded to Placer Valley


The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) recently announced that the 2020 United States Women's Disc Golf Championship will be held in Placer Valley! Placer Valley Tourism's (PVT) Director of Sales, Donna Dotti worked closely with Jennifer Knisley of Final 9 Sports to submit the winning bid that was selected as the host site for this elite tournament scheduled to take place Sept. 24-27, 2020.

The Rocklin Disc Golf Course at Johnson Springview Park in Rocklin, Auburn Regional Park in Auburn and Shady Oaks Park in Orangevale will be the three locations for this national event. Knisley, who currently serves as the PDGA State Coordinator for Northern California, will take the helm as tournament director for this huge disc golf championship.

"Having the opportunity to host the 2020 PDGA United States Women's Disc Golf Championship in Northern California with players of all skill levels is a wonderful way to introduce and encourage participation by women in organized disc golf events," stated Knisley. "The explosive growth of this game is incredible as it truly is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Dotti shared that PVT has had their eye on hosting a disc golf tournament of this caliber for a few years now and the fact that this event positively impacts women is icing on the cake!

"We are so honored and excited to have this opportunity especially considering it helps advance the development of women in sports," explained Dotti. "When a community comes together the results are impressive and it is definitely important to us here at PVT!"
