Keeping Guests and Residents Safe

As the Placer Valley begins the slow and cautious process of re-opening, we want our guests and residents to be as informed as possible. Follow this link to public health information for Placer County including current guidelines, information on COVID-19 cases, testing sites, and more.

To keep our area as healthy as possible, we ask everyone to follow these recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home while you are sick and avoid close contact with others
  • Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing
  • Wear cloth face coverings - such as a bandanna, scarf or homemade cloth cover – when leaving the house for essential activities

If you fall ill while you are in Placer Valley, the area is serviced by two primary hospitals:

Get Outdoors

Placer Valley is full of easily accessible walking trails and hidden gems to uncover. If you want to stay nearby, check out the trail map provided by each city for walking and cycling.

Up for a short drive? Within 30 minutes you can reach two of California's beautiful State Parks; the Auburn State Recreation Area and the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. Also within a convenient driving distance is a favorite spot for locals; Hidden Falls Regional Park.

Currently, all of the parks mentioned above are open but be sure to check with recreation areas before visiting for the most up to date regulations!

Drink Local on the Placer Wine and Ale Trail

While tasting rooms are temporarily closed, many businesses along the Placer County Wine and Ale Trail are getting creative. Under Phase 2 of California's re-open plan, some wineries and breweries have been able to welcome visitors looking for a drink by the glass if they also purchase food. Wise Villa Winery has opened their bistro and many breweries, like Monk's Cellar and Kathrin's Biergarten, are opening their restaurants or taking advantage of on-site food trucks.

For those searching for something on the go, travel the trail to pick-up your order curbside. A complete list of wineries and breweries in the Placer Valley can be found below.

Retail Opening

We are excited to see our local shopping areas begin to open up for in-store retail experiences and convenient curbside pick-up. As of May 22, the Westfield Galleria Mall in Roseville is open for in-store shopping with new safety and cleanliness standards. Local stores throughout Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln are starting to welcome visitors back in as well. Check out the many small businesses and shopping districts Placer Valley has to offer.

Placer County Fair Going Virtual

While we are disappointed this year’s fair will not be happening as originally planned, staff and volunteers are working to hold a virtual Junior Livestock Auction to support our youth in 4H and FFA. The auction will take place June 26th and 27th. Information is available on the Livestock page of the Placer County Fair website. Follow the Placer County Fair on Facebook to join in!

We are so thankful for everyone who has put in so much of their time and hearts into the fair and look forward to welcoming you back June 24-27, 2021!
