"Durst ist schlimmer als heimweh," which in German means thirst is worse than homesickness. No one will go home thirsty at Rocklin's small piece of Germany in the form of Kathrin's Biergarten. It has all the aspects of a traditional biergarten. Historically, in order to keep the beer cool in the summertime, large trees such as chestnut or oak were planted to provide shade while white pebble stones were laid on the ground to further reflect sunlight. The menu was inspired after many Oktoberfests. The sausages and pretzels are sourced from other local German immigrants, and many of the additional produce and ingredients are shipped from Germany.
