SACRAMENTO AND PLACER COUNTIES – The 2025 Western National Championships is one of the largest Senior Softball tournaments on the eastern seaboard, attracting over 100 teams west of the Mississippi River annually from the United States and Canada to compete in Sacramento and Placer Counties, California, July 29 – August 3. The event will being over 3,000 players and family members and infuse about $2 million into the region as players, managers and family members visit local restaurants, shops and stay in local hotels.
Men’s divisions ranging from ages 40 to 85, and Women’s divisions ranging from ages 40 to 50 will compete.
The tournament will begin with the senior statesmen of the sports – age divisions 65-85, playing Tuesday – Thursday, July 29-31. The 2nd session, Men’s 40-60 and Women’s 40-50, will play Friday – Sunday, August 1-3.

Games will be played across the Sacramento region, Sacramento Softball Complex, Bartholmew Sports Park in Elk Grove, Foskett Regional Park in Lincoln, and Maidu Regional Park in Roseville.

“This is the big warm-up for the World Championships,” said Terry Hennessy, Chief Executive Officer of Senior Softball USA. The World Championships is the largest softball tournament in the country, drawing 650 teams from the United States, Canada and a number of International Co-Ed Teams.
Teams playing in the Western National Championships not only qualify for the World Championships in Las Vegas, Sept. 18- Oct. 5, but the Western National champions will play against the champions of the Eastern National Championships (held in Loudoun County, VA.) during the Worlds.
In addition, winners in each division in Sacramento are invited to the most prestigious tournament in the country – the Tournament of Champions in Florida, January 21-25, 2026.
