Leslie Craig-Goings has always been a source of inspiration for those around her, particularly in the way she dedicated her life to W.E.A.V.E. Growing up, I witnessed my mom pour her heart into this incredible organization, creating programs that have stood the test of time. W.E.A.V.E. was not just a workplace for her; it was a cornerstone of our family life, filled with gatherings where her co-workers became part of our extended family. Her commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on our childhood and shaped who I am today.
Two years ago, I took my mom on a Mother's Day Motorcycle Ride. We spent the entire day exploring the breathtaking mountains of Northern California, with laughter and joy filling the air. We had lunch at an amazing spot in Placerville, CA, then continued our ride through-out the mountains. For many days after the wonderful ride we had, she would often ask if we could take another ride again on my motorcycle. I kept blowing it off, and telling her yes, we will one day. Well, that day never happened, and unfortunately time slipped away, and my mom passed away suddenly on July 2nd, 2025. I was and still am sad that I never made that ride a priority. I never got her on that ride.
So, in honor of my mom and the amazing person she was to so many, I have created this annual event to allow her legacy to live on forever. I want this event to be an annual event where every year, the community comes together for a motorcycle ride in her name and then celebrate her life with a music festival. At the end of the event, we will make a donation to W.E.A.V.E. on my mom Leslie's behalf. So, every year, I will throw this event to honor her and who she was a s a human being. And all of the proceeds will go to W.E.A.V.E.
Join us for a fun-filled day of motorcycles, good food, vendors, live music, raffle prizes, bounce houses and so much more? You do not need to ride a motorcycle to attend the event. All are welcome!
